Politics and the National Epic

In the third programme from the series "Il-Politika fil-Letteratura", Dr Mario Thomas Vassallo and I discuss the link between history, narrative and the national epic.

We discuss the narrative in Acts 28 and the writings of various authors including: Theodor Herzl ("The Jewish State"), H.E. Marshall ("Our Island Story" and "Our Empire Story"), Fr Salv Laspina ("Outlines of Maltese History"), Sir Winston Churchill ("History of the English-Speaking Peoples") and Sir Cecil Spring Rice ("I vow to thee my country" sung to the tune by Gustav Holst by the Choir of King's College, Cambridge).

The selected texts are narrated by Ms Simone Chircop.
