Social Commentary in the Nineteenth Century
In the tenth programme from the series "Il-Politika fil-Letteratura," Dr Mario Thomas Vassallo and I discuss writing as a form of social commentary.
The programme focusses in particular on the nineteenth century when a number of novelists, including Charles Dickens and Victor Hugo, began exploring several themes prompted by the rapid processes of urbanization and industrialization and the emergence of socialist thought.
