Vote 16

The House of Representatives unanimously approved the lowering of the voting age from 18 to 16. In my blog (in Maltese) for Newsbook.com.mt I address some points for consideration. Both sides of the House made reference to the fact that young people can give a mature contribution to society. I have no doubt about that. My worries lie elsewhere - what sort of behaviour do political actors (and our political system) encourage? What else is needed to strengthen the contribution that young people can give?
