Tomorrow, the Church in Malta commemorates Our Lady of Sorrows. Masses and special devotions are organised. Almost every parish holds a devotional procession. An image of Our Lady of Sorrows was venerated in several industrial and commercial centres - the Malta Dockyard, the Malta Ship Building and the old Market in Valletta. Popular devotions retain their penitential character and the processions still attract a large number of pilgrims.
In my blog for Newsbook.com.mt, I try and identify some of the links between the Maltese and the celebration of Our Lady of Sorrows (blog in Maltese).
