Youth and the Synod

Last month, the 15th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops gathered in Rome to discuss “Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment.” In my monthly piece for Il-Lehen (25.XI.2018), I share some thoughts on the Synod.

I argue that, as individuals, we cannot witness our faith if this is not nourished by scripture, the Sacraments, prayer and community. We cannot offer others what we don’t possess, and we cannot invite others to experience something which is alien to us. In this regard, a long retreat would not go amiss.
