A Lent like no other

Some thoughts of mine on this extraordinary Lent and this Holy Saturday published in The Times (11.IV.2020).

"We need to stay at home in order to stay safe. Except that home is not a safe place for everyone. For some, ‘home’ is a place where physical and psychological violence takes place; where harrowing memories from the past unfold daily. For others, social isolation is a way of life and not an action in time of necessity....

And yet, the journey of Lent ends with Easter. The narrative of Easter, much like the times we are living in, also begins with a harrowing account."
