Dun Karm Psaila

My latest study (in Maltese) looks at the idea of nationhood and patriotism in the work of the national poet, Mgr Karm Psaila (1871 - 1961). Taking a cue from political science theories, I argue that "nation" and "narrative" cannot be taken separately. The work of Mgr Psaila contains several narratives which attempt to weave a particular image of the Maltese nation in its formative period.
